The New Patriotic Party (NPP) of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, through this medium
conveys warm felicitations from H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the
Republic, Hon. George Mireku Duker (MP) and Hon. Benjamin Kesse (MCE) to you the good
people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), which is still on a fruitless mission to get a running
mate for their unmarketable and corruption-prone Flagbearer and fighting the Electoral
Commission of Ghana, which they highly praised just some few years back, have extended
their tentacles of destruction to the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal through a coalition of their
Constituency & Regional Executives, their unpopular Parliamentary Candidate and Assembly
Members affiliated to the NDC.
Early in the day, an acclaimed group of 22 members of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal
Assembly addressed the press stating that, they want the President to re-appoint the sacked
Former MCE and until then, they are not recognizing Hon. Benjamin Kessie, the newly sworn-
in MCE for Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
This press conference was heavily coordinated and attended by NDC constituency and regional
executives. The question is, were those Assembly Members voted by their electorates to go
and pay allegiance to their political parties to the extent that, the Tarkwa-Nsuaem NDC
Parliamentary Candidate threatened that, should they (the NDC Affiliated Assembly Members) vote for the President’s nominee, he will step down.?
Should Tarkwa-Nsuaem development be hanged because of the interest of the NDC? Is that
how the NDC will want to stay relevant? Why is the NDC worried about the President’s choice
to help move the developmental agenda of Tarkwa-Nsuaem forward.?
Is it an opposition party that will determine who the President appoint to steer the affairs of a
district, municipal or metropolitan.?
Why did the NDC fight against the election of MMDCEs and now using some affiliated
Assembly Members to hold the development of Tarkwa-Nsuaem to a ransom.?
The mandate of H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo towards the development of Tarkwa-
Nsuaem is not subject to the whims and caprices of any political party but rather, the collective
interest of the good people of the municipal.
Tarkwa-Nsuaem NPP is focused on how to develop the Municipality and will be monitoring
the irresponsible attitudes of the NDC towards the good people of the Municipal.
There is no
way, the unrealistic ambition of a certain Parliamentary Candidate be substituted with the
development of Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
Hon. George Mireku Duker (MP) inflicted the deepest electoral wound on the Western Region
NDC in 2016 and they have since made it an agenda to make him and the President unpopular
but they keep failing.
The NDC is not happy with Hon. Benjamin Kessie as the MCE since
there will be a good working relationship between him and the MP, a development which will
collapse Tarkwa-Nsuaem NDC totally.
To the NDC, we are humbly advising them to comport themselves properly as a political party on a mission to re-capture power. Their frustrations of losing the impending elections shouldn’t
be at the expense of the developmental agenda of Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
We advise them to sell their vision (if they have any) as we operationalize our mandate to serve.
The good people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Assembly Members and other stakeholders in the Municipality are very grateful to H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for putting his right foot forward in ensuring that, Tarkwa-Nsuaem moves forward.
We are hereby sounding a strong caution to the leadership of NDC to show leadership and not
be a stumbling block in the way of Wassaman.
Our Municipality cannot be punished because
of the NDC’s illusionary candidate, whose only currency in staying relevant is remote-
controlling their close Assembly Members against the will of the people.
Tarkwa-Nsuaem development is supreme and we will not allow anyone or a group of a
microscopic few hold the destiny of the Municipal to ransom.
Hon. Benjamin Kessie is the recognized Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) as confirmed by Assembly Members.
In less than a week of the confirmation of the new MCE, Bogoso junction road is under
maintenance, Contractor on Tarkwa-Banso – Esuoso road has started work, MCE was
yesterday sworn-in as the Secretary of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem local management committee of the Minerals Development Fund by the Board Chairman, Minerals Development Fund to
operationalize the seed money of One Million Ghana Cedis (GHc 1,000,000.00) towards
various developmental projects in the Municipal. The MCE has started very well.
Let us shine our eyes as the NDC have no better plans for Tarkwa-Nsuaem development but
rather attempting to impede the progress of the Municipality.
Tarkwa-Nsuaem deserves better.
